What you really need to watch and pay attention to is how "relaxed" he is. Check out how loose his playing and technique are. Very little effort in his stick motions! This extremely important. If you are tight you will sound tight, if you are loose you will sound loose and the music will flow. Very little effort if your technique is correct. The sticks float on the kit. It should feel very east because it is.
