@rangers11000 - under normal circumstances I'm sure you're spot on. I was on the ground at this incident tho and have written it as it was explained to me by the OC - it was a populated villiage and it is imperative to the British military to avoid civilian cadualities if poss. Your explanation does make sense also though.

@imagejunky The diplomatic and politically correct answer by far, i agree. However, in this US Marine's personal oppinion, the best thing we can do is simply "kill 'em all, let God sort them out." I've seen too many good lives lost at the hands of our shitty ROE. I don't really think we should kill every man woman and child, but pussyfooting around the enemy out of fear of killing a farmer causing 5 more insurgents to uprise gets 5 more Marines killed. I've seen it happen.
