Oh my!Ó_o Why everyone is thinking that nakama means a friend or friends? Actually tomodachi means "friend" and nakama means "crew member/mate".

In One Piece, Oda wnated people to understand that when Luffy says "Nakama" he means it deeper then just crew mate, he means precious friend. Though if you want correct it would be "Taisetsu na Tomodachi" but Oda (the creator of cone piece) would want people to know Luffy holds Nakama in that reference, though you are correct about Nakama being "Crewmate" but, in this term Nakama is "Precious Friend or Family" :)
