This has always been my favorite Christmas Tune, and I learned Stu's version only days after Merry Axemas Vol. 2 came out (in 1998, when I was 13).

If you search for the tab online, you'll find mine almost everywhere (but don't send an email to the email address listed on my tabs, because I don't use it anymore). I recognize the several mistakes in that tab, but remember, I was 13 when I did it!

You'll certainly ask, "what's with the video cut in the middle of the song?!" I filmed with my Canon A80, which can only record 3 minute clips. To compensate for this, I had to film two halves of the song and splice them together (same with the audio). Any poorly synced audio/video is simply me not spending enough time trying to get it perfect. My apologies for that.

The beginning part is me alone, and Stu's recording doesn't back me up until the band comes in at 0:21. I upped my levels and reduced the backing track to only 52%, so Stu's part isn't very loud.

And I'm aware of my mistake at 2:17, so there's no need to mention it. :)

Merry Christmas, everybody!

  • WOW, color me impressed!! Very well done. How long were you playing when, at 13 you were able to learn this?

  • @GHOF62 Thanks!

I started when I was 11 I think. 1996 or so. Lucky for me my brother was a shredhead and introduced me to real musicians early on!

  • damn man how long u been playin???

  • @eatadapoopoo69 Maybe about two or three weeks.

  • Real nice. :D Quick question... After you play the first lick twice, what are you playing for the the ascending chord line?

  • @blarg4847 Are you talking about at 0:06? G minor add 9

  • please tell me!!! what's your tuning to get this crunchy sound!?!?!

  • very nice playin!!

  • I loved the beautiful lick you added to the end

  • @jmatthews13 Tell me you're joking...

  • I don't believe you have .50 strings... I have the same bass,I had once .45 and it was really terrible,3 weeks I tried to adjust neck and it was really impossible. I had really high action and when I lowered strings,it rattled a lot. So I have .40 strings and I'll never buy harder on this bass.

  • @jmatthews13 ha your funny but seriously how long
