Just guessin but this is probably an Iron Block LS series engine which can handle over 2000 HP without the block spitting in half which is critical if you want the engine to last. I have a 1999 T/A with 363000 miles on it..and the only thing I have had to do to the engine is replace some water pumps and install some new plugs and wires. The old bird will still lay down some nice 60ft marks in second gear. Mobil 1 and shiftin under 6 grand is the key to stock LS1 longevity and happiness...
