  • witch program did you edit this video in? im thinking of bying this cam and don't hnow witch program i can use? please answere

  • @ErikTomesen - I used Sony Vegas Pro 10 to do this video. Since then, I've upgraded to Sony Vegas 11. The pro version is pretty powerful, but you might want to check out sonycreativesoftware (dot com) to look at their movie studio bundle. It has many of the same video editing features and is a lot less expensive.

  • Hi binary! 2 things: can you pause while recording (if yes, how?) and does vegas come with the cam?

  • @mrclausholm - No, you can't pause while recording. Digital HD video cameras like the DSC-HX100V create a new file/clip for each recording. Files can be editing using video editing software like Vegas, Avid, Adobe Premiere or Final Cut. Sony does not include Vegas; however, a trial version of their software can be downloaded for evaluation. Vegas Pro is their top of the line, but many people don't need its advanced feature. Vegas Movie Studio is a more affordable alternative, yet still powerful.

  • just a tip. If you right click on the slow footatge in sony vegas and click on no resample the "ghosting" will disappear.

  • @NightRid3rs77 - Thanks for the tip. The calculated frame rate and the project frame rate were identical, with 'Smart resample' selected, so no re-sampling should have occurred on the rendered video. I rendered some test footage with resampling turned off and the quality of the rendered output of both clips was identical, with some visible ghosting. I am happy with the output and the fact that the DSC-HX100V can record at 60fps progressive, even with minimal ghosting. Cheers!
