During protests against 100% cuts in public funding for Arts and Humanities higher education and a tripling of student fees in the UK, artists, lecturers and art school workers involved in the network 'Art Against Cuts' occupied Room 43 of the National Gallery where in front of Manet's 'The Execution of Maximilian' we were treated to guest lectures from 'Georgia O'Keefe' and 'Sol Le Witt' condemning the governments actions and defending the importance of a non-commodified culture for humanity.
