Sea Shepherd vessel makes distress call

An anti-whaling scouting vessel operated by Sea Shepherd has cracked its hull off Western Australia.

The Bridget Bardot ship made a distress call after a six-metre wave cracked its hull in the Southern Ocean last night, about 15 hundred nautical miles south-west of Fremantle.

Captain Paul Watson aboard the Sea Shepherd vessel Steve Irwin,
said it's on its way to the Bridget Bardot to either escort the vessel or tow it back to Fremantle.

In the meantime, the Sea Shepherd vessel Bob Barker will continue pursuing the Japanese whaling fleet.
