sounds like the XX's I swear the intro sounded like it. Did they gt inspired from them ?

@kackie68 An earlier version of the song appeared on the band’s self-titled EP, under the name ‘Billion Day Funeral’. The heavy subject meaning behind the song’s lyrics relate to the multiple abortions that various girlfriends of singer Ben Bridwell had to receive during his years living in Seattle. Sorry mate he's right

I always thought it sounded like "one brilliant day funeral". But whether it's brilliant, billion, or million, who cares? It's an awesome song so let's talk about that!
-
excuse me but it's one millionth day funeral, not billion, or brilliant... Not that it really matters. Just enjoy the music...
-
@kackie68, No mate, get your facts right, it is actually "One billionth day funeral.."

It's "one million day funeral." It's on the Lyrics page at odetoboh.net, a fan site that the band fully approved. It's also not about an actual funeral, but I won't get into that.
