I saw this bird out on a powerline trail in Sturbridge, MA on 10/23/08 at about noon. I think it's a Bald Eagle because I took some photo's with my zoom lens and then magnified them and you can see some patches of white on the The head. This could be an immature bird. If anyone can positively identify this bird I would appreciate it very much. Thank you Please go to www.twelvepoundsalad.com to see the photo's

  • After watching this vid again I can see why it's so difficult. In the photo's I took you can see a white breast, white speckling on the head and a curved beak. Anyone who wishes to see the photo's let me know and I will email them to you. I thought this may be an Immature Eagle because they don't get the distinctive white head until 5 years old. I saw some photo's of an immature and it looked similar to this.

  • @Studio 17. I ask because I don't know not because I doubt your id. I took photo's of this bird also and it has white underneath and some white speckling on it's head. I didn't know turkey vultures had a white breast and white speckling on it's head. When I first saw it I thought turkey vulture but the white made me think. I would be glad to email you the photo's I have if you have the expertice to make a positive ID from them. Thanks.

  • its clearly an osprey

  • turkey vulture for sure. the camera work is hard because its harder to keep it steady when you are so zoomed in, gotta cut him some slack
