I have two redbone connhounds. I don't hunt with either of them but they make FANTASTIC pets as long as you give them plenty of exercise.

Beautiful dog. Let me ask you something. I want to get into hunting with dogs, specifically coonhounds and beagles. Can you keep the dogs indoors? I really don't like the thought of keeping them outdoors- it's not the cold, it's just that I love being with my dogs, which is why I want to hunt with dogs in the first place. Does staying indoors really make them bad hunters?

Sure, you can keep them inside. We play "find it" games with treats. I'm from Canada... so we have to let him in during the winter. He really makes hunting fun!
