Hey, thanks for posting this. It's really cool. I gotta admit, despite that this is only fiction and whatnot, there's an epicness to it that I wish was real to some degree.

@SuperZaphior actually, it's 032 Mendicant Bias, a forerunner AI who went rampant, betrayed them, almost destroyed them before they activated the rings, then overcame his rampancy, realized what he did, then helped the chief in halo 3. If you play the sounds the terminals make right before they go red, there is a message. Not sure what it is though.
