Dolphin Fish make infrequent visits to Port Augusta. The theory is they come down the warm water currents along the Western Australian Coast.
That in some years connects with the Flinders current that runs West to East along the bottom of Australia, as the water cools the fish take the first turn North which is Spencers Gulf.
The Dolphin fish they get stranded at the top of the gulf. Unfortunately these fish will strand them selves in the shallows.
