Computer animation of the entire flight path of US Airways 1549, overlayed with air traffic control audio. The whole thing takes only about 2 minutes. Really gives you a sense of how little time there was to react.

Thank God for rivers, and Eisenhower for very straight sections of freeways with no overpasses. My dad was hours late coming home once because an airplane landed in front of him on the freeway and my mom didn't buy it, lol.

Yes, but you must agree that there's a difference between landing with engines running and on idle and landing without engines. You have the ability to add power, to go around, to adjust your approach etc. Landing with engines to idle in my books doesn't count as gliding.

You dont have to be a glider pilot to land without engines. All airplanes land on the trottle set to idle (power off landing) except when the winds are strong, you need to add one half the gust factor to your airspeed (power on landing) to keep the airplane under control in gusty winds.

Whoever calls this a conspiracy is definitely a simple minded fuck, they clearly say a flock of geese hit the engine, now how they could have planned for geese to hit BOTH engines is beyond me. It just isn't a planned subject. I love people like this, this pilot was a hero, he saved over 200 people's lives and remained calm. for that i salute him.

oh my gosh. amazing how calm they all are in the face of near-death and catastrophe. but i guess that's what they're trained for!!
