  • I grew up watching films of the 40's. The actors were people with whom, rightly or wrongly, one could identify with. With the few exceptions like Eastwood or Liam Neeson I don't feel comfortable even being in the same State with todays America hating dope swilling Hollywood pansies. Perhaps, eventually, they'll all O.D.

  • How cute is Arlene's blindfold in this eppisode. It has her initials monogramed "A" on one eye "F" on the other eye!

I love Dorothy's vague question "are you over 5"8?" .. and Bennett 'what good does that do?' haha

  • I love the fact that they ask if he's Jackie Gleason, who of course played Riley for a while himself. You can also listen to the long-running radio version of Life of Riley online, and I'd heartily recommend it. Great stuff, and so nostalgic.

  • William Bendix, another fantastic actor that is no longer with us now. In a short time from now their all going to be gone.

  • William Bendix, a great actor. Saw him live in a musical in Chicago, "Take Me Along." Try and see a movie called "The Hairy Ape," starring Mr. Bendix and I believe Susan Hayward.

  • surprising, there were only three networks, how many comedies could there be?

  • Lenny Clarke is todays Wm Bendix. Both are great.

  • @oysterjoe Damn, a little harsh I'd say. I love of the actors of this period and William Bendix was long gone before I was born. However, I can't deny the talents of people like Johnny Depp or Sean Penn. Frankly, I don't give a shit what their political affiliations are as long as I get my money's worth at the box office. Oh well, we are all entitled to our opinions and AMerica is swimming in an infinitely in them.

  • He once PLAYED Babe Ruth---the "vague" connection

  • "Are you over 5 feet 8?"

"What good does that do you?"

    "Not a bit."

    LOL

  • some of these WML celebrities John Daly would not flip the cards at all- others like this he DID gi Flip Happy

  • "You can't be Jackie Gleason" - this time, Daly wrongly gives a "no"
