  • Sorry, but the awful sound quality of this recording does no justice to the effort you apparently put into learning the piece. It sounds terrible, I can't tell if the interpretation is good at all through the splashy sound and that orchestra part you have playing in the background. It is a waste to play this on a Steinway grand if you are using a crappy camcorder microphone to record it. If you are going to spend so much time on learning Rachmaninov's 3rd, at least buy a half-decent microphone.

  • hey, biochemiker! you are really amazing! I always thought that Rach3 was unplayable for an amateur - now I am going to try it. You made me want to do it. >Thank you for that!

  • Great man :) Lots of respect to you :) And not only for playing, but for playing it at a very decent level :) 5*****

  • Haha... thanks so much for your long and descriptional comment. I liked how you described the last movement, hehe. I still have some pages to memorize before I put the last movement on youtube. I will let you know.

  • I bet you could make big headlines around the music world if you performed this and everybody found out you learned this by yourself and don't even play piano 'professionally'. Your playing throughout is brilliant, this is an extraordinary accomplishment, and I'm excited to hear the wicked, insane, pain-grinding, gut-wrenching, nail biting, last movement!!

    However just consider it. :)

  • My friend, im sure it will be quite a while before you get the 3rd movement up. I'm also sure you will be sick of playing this once thats done. However consider this: sometime in your lifetime when ur ready, you should highly consider playing this with a full orchestra. There may be only a couple (less than 5) people on this planet that have taught themselves the whole rach 3 and consider the piano a 'hobby'....(continued below)
