Here is our second Spearfish Canyon video. The riders in our videos live all over the country. Unfortunately we don't get the chance to ride together more than about once a year, so when we do we try to make the most of it. Here are Harris (from Colorado) and Lloyd (from West Texas), riding the northern portion of Spearfish Canyon, South Dakota. Ken (from Dallas, TX) is riding the Electra Glide Limited with one camera mounted on the handlebars, and a second on the high-side saddlebag. From the saddlebag camera you can see Dennis (Also from the Dallas, TX area) riding to the right of Ken. This is the section of the road from the Village of Savoy north to the City of Spearfish.
As you can see, the four riders are riding "tandem" (side-by-side). This technique is often thought of as "dangerous" by those not trained in its application. In fact it gives both riders an unobstructed view, and makes both riders visible to other traffic. The key is to stay close, so that the total width of both motors doesn't exceed about 8 feet (the width of a truck. An 8 foot total would allow two feet between motors (the handlebar tips are the closest point). You can see Lloyd and Harris seldom have more than a foot of separation. The same is true for Ken and Dennis, although the camera angle does not make their proximity as evident.
Here is a link to information on tandem riding, that addresses the concerns raised most frequently: http://www.leaguelineup.com/miscinfo.asp?menuid=39&cmenuid=39&url=wwa...

I should have fitted another camera on the back of yours or Lloyd's motor. Would have really made an interesting video.
