Sonideros and Djs at queens museum this saturday
When: Saturday @ 6:00-12:00 PM
We hope you can join us for this eclectic six hour dance party and lighting
extravaganza with over twenty djs and sonideros from various cities. This is
the last big social project for Pedro Lasch's exhibition 'Open Routines'
which will come down this July 9th.
The Museum's galleries will be open until 8pm for this event so you can also
see the exhibitions 'ABCDF: Portraits of Mexico City' and 'Jeff Liao's:
Habitat 7' as the djs spin away.

Sonidero is a dj who play cumbia sonidera and Cumbia Sonidera is a recent variant of popular cumbia in Mexico and comes from the original cumbia of Colombia. It is the combination of Colombian cumbia, adapted and recorded by Mexican groups mixing the sounds and electronic effects of DJs with the modification of tones of voice and speed of reproduction extracted from magnetic media or digital media of sonideros in Mexico City and other cities of the republic.
Cumbia sonidera rescues the form to make Colombian cumbia with accordion and between its variants is the one to use effects of Keyboard Synthesizers to accentuate the sound of a DJ, reason why it gives like result a fusion between cumbia of the 50's, 60's and 70's with the electronic sounds of the DJ of half-full of 90's.
