So this is my second video in my series of stupid questions asked by creationists. In this video I am going to address the following statement.

Fossils and even light from the stars where put there by god to test our faith.

The scientists stand is that the universe cannot have been created 6000 years ago because there is light travelling from stars which are billions of light years away, and this light has already reached earth. It would take billions of years for the light to reach earth and since the light has reached earth then we can conclude that it has had billions of years to travel. This is based on the knowledge that light travels at 299 792 458 m / s


When creationists are confronted with this they commonly use the excuse that god has purposely cause these discrepancies in order to test our faith in the bible.

So god planted fossils, created the stars and made their light instantly reach earth just to try to trick us.

Now Im not a fan of quoting bible verses but in most cases the bible destroys its own arguments, so Im going to use a quote from TITUS chapter 1 verse 2. In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began.

Ok so the important part here is the statement that god cannot lie. Since the bible if true is infallible then god is not capable of lying.

So now lets look up the definition of a lie

2 a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive; an intentional untruth; a falsehood

Now it doesnt take a genius to see that planting false evidence is an act of deception and a lie.

But since the bible states that got CANNOT lie then we are left with one of two options.

1 The bible is true so god cannot have planted fossils etc. thereby verifying the existence of the fossils and essentially proving that the earth is very old.

2the bible is false and god can lie. If this where true then the entire creation argument would be based on a unreliable book.


Either way the creationist argument falls down. Either the bible is true but wrong or the bible is false and unreliable.

@ThatAtheistGuy20 That's like saying do you exist ? and if you do then explain the consciousness in a video, show proof that you have conscious , then show proof that everyone around you has a conscious.

No scientist or person can explain the consciousness, only that it is there and that we are alive somehow.

@TheGeekSheek Its easy to prove i exist. I think therfore I am. as far as proving a conscious then, I am a Conscious being, I exist there for conciousness exists.

I dont expect you to explain how god is there, i want you to show that he IS there

I just don't understand how people persist in their blind literal adherence to books written thousands of years ago by men who didn't live at the time they were writing about. Religions like christianity, judaism, islam etc were invented. I.e. didn't exist before books like the Bible and the Qu'ran were written. So i could just make up a religion now and in a few thousand years i'd have 'believers' (or for Ron Hubbard instant success). Boy is it easy to rip people off!

before christianity became real, it was judaism. and guess what, before the jewish god was real, everybody was praying to the greek gods which is now considered "mythology" the bible says jesus died around 33 a.d. yet the new testement was written around 100-150a.d so that means if the bible is true, that everyone forgot jesus even existed for almost 70 years. religion was created by man. open your eyes please. and google "ignored bible verses" and grab your bible so you can see yourself.

@karaokequeen71 Using that same logic since it's only fair, If the Bible is the proof that God exists then DC comics is the proof that, Superman, wonder women, the green lanturn, batman, hawk girl, the flash, the green arrow, and Darkseid all exist. If one believes in God they may aswell believe every mithological being is real too because the proof that supports each one existing is equal.

Lol God created the universe?, then why is'nt the universe infinite like him. Fact is if god is inifnite then the universe would have to be equally as infinite to accomidate him. If the universe was infinite then every point in the universe, every atom, proton etc would be the center of it, there would be no point in gravity. God can't exist because his existance defys the nature of the universe itself. Also God would'nt of needed Mary to give birth to himself if he was infinite anyway.

But god increased the speed of light and accelerated the development of stars.. uhh.. kinda. 6000 years ago there was Sun, and Earth. and maybe moon. and a giant transparent sphere with pretty lights on the surface..yes. spinning. uh. what'd i miss?

@gregrutz yep some things could have got lost or mixed up in translation, which again means the bible we read is unreliable. And to be fair i do not think the bible actually states that god put fossils on earth to test us, some idiot said that when asked a question he/she had no idea how to answer
