im new to sf and ive been playing SFIV for like 3 months so im interested in this too now but dont know anything about it.

well u might aswel say "why dont u use the best character cos hes better than all the other characters."

Ken has the best DP, has good throw loops and all sorts of tricks. little things make a difference to a character.. not just based on the super, although ryu is the better one out of the 2 in terms of tiers

Though this is a probable exception, I mean, look at the damage dealt on single hits at full health versus when they're nearly dead.

Thats usually if they have a full health bar. The same combo would take off a bit less if they were at half or less.

A lot of games have this kind of thing, this sort of damage reduction based on current life.

Not really, there's no damage scaling like in SF4.

ken is still good nonetheless. i mean ya-youre right ryu DOES have a better super but ken is still a good character. His jab shoryukens have ALOT of priority and hes a pretty good character to combo with.

Gotta love SSF2, where a 3-hit combo causes you to lose 40% of your health.
