www.dag.nl - Dutch documentary maker Jan van Friesland on the parallels between Jesus and Caesar.
The announced documentary film, "The Gospel of Caesar", is based on Francesco Carotta's discovery expounded in the book "Jesus was Caesar. On the Julian Origin of Christianity", which has been lauded by scholars of diverse disciplines (although some prefer to remain anonymous).

More info:
http://www.carotta.de Among much other material, the documentary film "The Gospel of Caesar" can be found here.

Before leaving ignorant comments or unfriendly remarks, which will not be tolerated, we politely request that you inform yourself about this subject more than by just watching this video (which was originally broadcast on Dutch TV). Rather, in order to form an opinion, you should at least read the book "Jesus was Caesar" (for more info see www.carotta.de) and/or watch the documentary film "The Gospel of Caesar", which can be found on the Internet.
Thank you.

For the Bible-thumpers out there, here are two quotes, one by Caesar and one by Jesus.

"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword."

"Let this be the new policy of victory that we arm ourselves with mercifulness and liberality."

Which peacemaker said which? For those who don't know yet reading the Gospel and JwC will help...

  • Euhemeros said that the gods had once been kings, great rulers who were regarded as euergetês, benefactors. The same is passed down about Caesar. He was loved by the people, they regarded him as savior, father, god. Suetonius reports:

"In deorum numerum relatus est, non ore modo decernentium sed et persuasione volgi."

"He was numbered among the gods not only because of a proclamation of a decision, but also because of the deep conviction of the people."

    Do some more reading...

  • If you're confused it's probably because you haven't concerned yourself with this topic enough. Just watching this video doesn't suffice to understand the history of Christianity. Jesus, as he is presented in the Gospels, is the diegetically transposed deified Julius Caesar. The Gospel is a rewritten hagiography ( "glorified retelling") of the life of Julius Caesar (starting at the Rubicon). Julius Caesar was also the Son of the Goddess Venus, in Greek theos can mean both God and Goddess...

  • @JosePiso You have me confused. I also believe that Caesar was Jesus. Except Jesus is a glorified retelling of Caesars conquest. The son of God Jesus that Christians believe in I believe is fake. The Jesus (Caesar) that roamed the Earth I believe is real.

  • @JosePiso I'm not sure actually. But since the Greeks were all about telling stories to teach lessons it's more realistic to say that they were just fictional characters in stories that were meant for teaching. In a couple million years I bet they'll think Spongebob was a God when in our day we know him only as someone to teach little kids.

  • @Roy9030 BTW, what makes you so sure that the Greek Gods were fictional figures for moral teachings? They might very well have been real, historical figures, too. Have you ever heard of Euhemeros?

  • @Roy9030 Who's being ignorant here? The book "Jesus was Caesar", the documentary film "The Gospel of Caesar" and lots of further scientific articles provide the proof of his, Jesus', existence. That's what this discovery is all about. Jesus Christ is just another name for the divine Julius Caesar. And Julius Caesar and the cult which worshiped him and incognito still worships him today (Christianity) were and are very real, don't you think?

  • @JosePiso Except there is no proof of his existence which means such a statement is ignorant. After all Jesus could very well be either a fictional figure for moral teachings like the Greek Gods to the Greek or he could be a glorified retelling of Caesars life story. Pick your option, because you don't need proof to say he's not real but you do need proof to say he is.

  • @Roy9030 But since there is a real, historical figure behind the Gospel character of Jesus, Jesus isn't really "fake".

  • @FivePerCentR Jesus is also fake because there is no proof. Jesus being Caesar is the most realistic and is the most probable answer.
