I can do excellent flatspins inverted or not with my 4 cell setup but i never use the high rates. i have about 30 percent expo and keep on low rates. the first time i flew it on high rates it was close to impossible to keep in control. my suggestion, stay on low rates with the thrust vector and just muscle it with a little more throttle. you can still do every manuever and still have a stable plane. Looks like the guys in this vid were on high rates and got out of trouble just in time.

@400chevlc Thanks very much. Is a lot of fun but risk. The model doesn't take much abuse. Got 30-40 flights out of it before I retired it. I don't do foamies anymore for that reason. I stick to moulded airframes.

Just fitted the vector thrust unit to mine. Do you use full throttle with full rudder to get the flat spin ? Thanks Mike

@mike28093 Only after bringing it to a near stall. Zero throttle, bleed the airspeed off, gradually pull up the nose to help that. It'll tip to one side, full throttle and full rudder, using elevator to keep the nose up. With enough height you can get 2-3 rotations one way and then throw rudder other way to get opposite spin before you run out of height. Good luck.

@mike28093 You can buy an add-on vectored thrust unit for the Squall. Enables you to do all types of tricks.

@cruddneck Cant remember specifically but I kept moving it back as far as possible while being able to keep reasonable control. Further back it is the easier to high alpha and hover obviously but you have to do it progressively. Get confident and then fly lower. Try high first. Very high. When the Squall stalls it loses a lot of altitude.
