We had a Girlfriends-Valentines-Sunday-Dinner - strictly vegetarian!!

Although I am an amateur in those kind of things (filming and editing and often cooking) I would like to take part in this nice valentine's competition.
These are my first videos made with the Windows Movie Maker - without Jamie Oliver's valentine's idea I wouldn't have tried it. Although it was not easy to hold the camera in the left hand and to cook with the right one, I did improvise a lot, had to lay the camera down so many times.
You see the result - it isn't pro at all - but as I was filming on myself and it was so much fun to do it, I decided to put the little films on(line) - hoping not to bore you with this stuff ;-).

As said, it was a Girlfriends-Valentines-Sunday-Dinner with two vegetarians in the group!!
As starters we had Crostini with mozzarella - as the main dish we had tofu-curry with bambus and soybeans with basmati rice, as side dishes carrot soldiers, grilled mushrooms, tofu-steaks and sesame broccoli. As dessert we had cream cheese with a berrymixture with amaretto-crumbles (and for sure a nice dry red Californian Cabernet Sauvignon).
I enjoyed it quite well to prepare the whole vegetarian (garlic-free) stuff - as I am not only allergic to garlic but also a vegetarian (and not only me.. ;-).
It was great to have the girls over - all gus from Cologne, Germany, that I originally know from my internetcafé-group I am trying to teach to get along with the internet and all the surfing stuff...).

Dear Jamie, we are all great fans of your recipes and will try a lot of the ones that are new to us!!

  • I honestly don't think I could ever be vegetarian, I love tofu but I love having it with meat or in a soup(best thing ever) not by itself, there is no better thing to accent the taste of tofu than a nice steak
