A Child's New Life Foundation - Nav Jeevan Sanstha

Watch the touching and inspiring story of Ranjita, a young Indian girl living in the slums and forced to beg in the streets with her brothers and sisters so they wouldn't starve. They would race to beat stray dogs to the leftovers thrown out at weddings. Raised only by her alcoholic father after her mother died from alcoholism, Ranjita slept outside and would have to sit up at night in a shed when it rained. In a twist of fate she is taken into a school for children from the slums where she begins her transformation into a young girl with hopes and dreams. For the first time ever she sleeps in a bed and under a roof that doesn't leak. Many of the children here are healthy and happy for the first time in their lives. Her story is incredible and unlike anything you could ever imagine. Her great joy for the basic things that many of us take for granted will fill you with gratitude.
