Jesse Morrison Demo 2009

This is my demo reel showing some of the things I have worked on during the last 5 years. The music was written and performed by me as well. It was edited mostly on AVID Media Compser and DVD Studio Pro with a few changes and add-ons using WinDVD Creator. Here is a description of everything used in the demo:

1. PHOTOGRAPHY NETWORK The main focus for me on this project was making an interactive DVD of all the segments that make up the pilot. ImageNation is a segment that shows 2 photographers talking about their work.

2. THE FIREPLACE This is from the first interactive DVD I made which was a personal project. This part of the DVD was part of my first exploration with using video in the background.

3. THE SIGNAL For this film, I made DVD screeners and did edit-assist work.

4.THE 48 HOUR FILM PROJECT For the last 5 years, I have compiled all the pieces and done additional graphics work for all of the screenings for the Atlanta division. Its just as time-sensitive and intense as participating in the project its self. I have included some snippets from some of the pieces shown.

5. THE LENA BAKER STORY Another film where I have created several screeners for the film. I have also created interactive DVD reels for the different trailers and radio ads. The official title of the film is now Hope & Redemption: The Lena Baker Story.

6. DANCE OF THE DEAD For this film, I helped out with media conversions for visual effects along with DVD screeners and edit-assist work.

7. AWAKE MY SOUL: THE STORY OF THE SACRED HARP I made DVD screeners and interactive DVD reels for the trailers for this documentary along with helping out on sound recordings for some of the shooting of this film.

8. THE SNOWMAN This DVD menu is also from my first interactive DVD. I used Photoshop to place the owl so it was looking at the chapter selections. This menu page alone is what made me realize the integration of so many aspects of post-production that goes into DVD Authoring. The reason why I like DVD creation so much is that it incorporates so much including editing, sound design and graphics.

9. BET HIP HOP AWARDS I have worked on the Hip Hop Award Ceremonies for 2008 and 2007. My involvement with this has been DVD screeners of segments, of the whole program its self and its different versions along with file conversions, edit-assist work and many time sensitive dubs of raw footage.

10. JENNIFER WYSOCKIS THE GIRLS OUTDOORS I made this interactive DVD consisting of the first 4 episodes at the time. This project helped me to further understand DVD scripting. I was able to create a Play All button and have its function read from the same files used for the individual episodes instead of doubling the information on the disc. I also took the project a step further and created recipe pages for all the recipes that were used in the episodes.

11. HAPPY HOLIDAYS This was another personal project where I used After Effects for the first time to make the snow animation. It also showcases some of my earliest custom-made buttons.

12. ATLANTA FILM FESTIVAL For the past 4 years I have compiled screeners and have done media conversions to tape for mostly the shorts programs as well as some of the feature films. I have also included some snippets of some of the pieces I have worked with.

13. TYLER PERRYS HOUSE OF PAYNE For the first 10 episodes I did edit assist work and DVD screeners.

14. BRAMBLY HEDGE This was another personal project not only exploring After Effects further with the video footage incorporated into the main menu page but it was one of my first successful attempts to converting Region 2 PAL files to Region 1NTSC for playable use on American TV and DVD players.
