The creators behind The Sims 2 and fellow movie makers give you an inside look into the movie making world. I strongly recommend this for those just starting out, or for those who want to learn how to make their own machinima films. I learned a few tips and tricks from this myself! It's extremely helpful, and even interesting. Be sure to pause and rewind on parts you think you need to brush up on; I need to work on my background scenery myself. xD!!!

Enjoy!

I got this from The Sims 2's official website. (thesims2 dot com.)

Also, if there's something else you don't see in here that you think would be helpful, please post a video of it and make a response. I wanna see your ideas! :D

Also, this is from The Sims 2 deluxe edition, in other words, The Sims 2 + Nightlife. If you don't have TS2 yet, GET DELUXE EDITION. It saves you some money, and you get one of the best expansion packs EA has ever released in your game. c: Top it off with Seasons and you should be quite content for a few months. xD I know I am.

A suggestion from me: Don't use the sound! I'll post a video response of a video with sound enabled, and a video without it.

  • how do you get such good quality and also i cant even get that close to a sim even if im all the way zoomed in

  • @JuliaGarrett Look for Gunmod's camera hack from Mod The Sims and install that. It gives you all sorts of lenience when it comes to camera angles. As for good quality, alter the camera settings to their highest and save the file as something high-quality. In other words, ditch Windows Movie Maker; it destroys the quality of your video. Seeing that I don't do this sort of thing often, I wouldn't be able to help with video quality; just poke around the internet for something useful.

  • i need to work on how fast the thing is going because like i can have my guy throw a foot ball on a window and some one will look out the window but it all goes by so fast noeone will be able to no wat it mean! :( plz reply if u no wat to do and no how to slow your movie down so ppl with understand it :(

  • @cele657 Try the slow motion cheat. Pull up the cheat console, then type "slowmotion 1" or any other number up to 8. You can also use decimals to get really specific. I'm pretty sure 1 is the default speed, so if you want to change it back just type slowmotion 1 again. If not that, then it's 0. I forgot, heheh.

  • what about music videos?would this still apply to them?

  • @ben9999123456 Of course! If you decide to make a music video with TS2, good luck. I know how hard it can be, haha.

  • @theBeanPhilip Fantastic, but this isn't about making movies with The Sims 3.

  • @osmcooljen You can either make one yourself in-game using the locker wardrobes from the University expansion pack as lockers, or you can download one. There are plenty floating around the internet. But if you don't want to check Google, Mod the Sims has one for sure.
