Need serious help with this Mixxx free DJ software. Got the IBM T60 Lenovo Core Duo laptop, the Maya 44 soundcard and the Serato time-code CD. Just nothing is going my way and trying to figure out what it is? Please help.

  • Hey man. Sorry, I've been very busy with work and traveling since you posted this. It sounds like the output of your CD player is too hot for the sound card you're using. Can you run the CD player through a mixer, gain it down a bit, then plug the mixer output into the sound card? (I demonstrate this in my VC part 2 video.)

  • @PegasusRPG OK, I tried something else out and discovered that my CDJ has it's own volume. Turned it down as low as I can and got some improvement. Just Mixxx played backwards Also, where on the soundcard do I plug from the mixer output?

  • @gammakrush905 ok, that's good. let's take this to the Mixxx forum for the benefit of others. I'll respond there.

  • Also, don't press Play when using vinyl control. It will always look paused in Mixxx 1.7.x when VC is on. (1.8 fixes that, but you still won't need to click play. Just use the deck.)
