  • I couldn't agree more. The whole Toy Matinee album is rock solid as all of his work. Gilberts passing is in my opinion the greatest loss that ever happened to the contemporary pop/rock scene.

  • TM was one of the best bands tha never had a chance to grow... what an awesome production best songs great players .... DAMN what a waste.... look up more of them here on you tube.... makes 90% of all "popular" music coming out in the last 10 years just CRAP in comparison...

  • @demongene That explains the punch. Thanks!

  • @eldorado96 It's a Stingray I believe...

  • Did you know this song was written for Madonna. Not for her to sing it, but Patrick Leonard wrote it to her.

  • Holy crap! Listen to that bass line! I'm also a big fan of Level 42 / Mark King. I guess that's one of Guy Pratt's Status axes.

  • Kevin Gilbert"s Toy Matinee is incredible talent

  • Kudos for a very clever job linking this Toy Matinee classic to story-perfect footage from "LOTR". [applause]

  • greatest loss that ever happened to the contemporary pop/rock scene.

  • @RaptorV1USA I completely agree. TM was easily one of the best "pop-music" bands ever to grace our ears. Because they insisted on speaking the truth in their lyrics, they were never given the publicity they deserved.

    "There was one repressed do-gooder

And a few who still believed

Yes I think there were five good men here yesterday

But they were asked to leave

So we've kept the good old vices

And laboured to invent a few

    With cake in vulgar surplus

We can have it and eat it, too "

  • Genius, nothing else describes Kevin.....period....
