A case of hemiplegia .On the affected side the reflexes are brisk, and there is ankle clonus. This is a repetetive movement of the foot when it is suddenly dorsiflexed.Ankle clonus is a sure sign of upper motor neurone lesion.
So did he damage his spine in the C6, C7, C8 region (hence hypotonic fingers but hyperreflexic lower limb symptoms) or did he suffer a stroke in his left cerebral hemisphere?
