@BridgewatersFinest I want to repeat I'm not seeing you as an asshole from not liking this, more for implying everyone liking this is stupid. AFAIK you made 3-4 arguments, not 6-7, and i went against at least most. I think you're mistaking prog with something else, because prog's shreddy during most of the song, while this doesn't have a lead. I must agree you can't point that much with so few lines, but perhaps daron only saw the lyrics as a minor part of this album... That's it.

@blobliblo35 You're pinpointing on ONE of no less than, what, six or seven reasons I've given why these lyrics are shit, and attempting to refute JUST that one. Yes, lyrics are only one of any number of things that CAN determine an album's/artist's success. My point is, had Daron not been a lazy songwriter and put more effort into his lyrics, then PERHAPS the album would have sold more than 80,000 copies. Is that better?

@blobliblo35 Scars has prog and avant-garde influences which are evident in their music, but again, arguing genre semantics is tiresome and pointless, because anyone who can string a few sentences together can pretty much argue that any given artist has any given influence.

There's a huge difference between prog and this, if you know both genres, just wanted to point out. And you still failed to show how minimalistic lyrics are bad and how they are uninspired

I said "refined" is subjective because of its positive connotation, but let's take the neutral word "complex" instead, since it's near and objective.

It happens not all people care about the number of lines. Musically, this album is very simple, with sometimes like 4-5 different riffs by song. That doesn't stop the music to be (not for everyone, but at least for me) pretty nice. The lyrics just follow the same style.
