The House debates H.R. 5140, the Recovery Rebates and Economic Stimulus for the American People Act, a bipartisan economic stimulus legislation to help hardworking Americans who are struggling with the high costs of gas, health care and groceries, and to jumpstart our slowing economy. The bill would put hundreds of dollars into the hands of 117 million American families -- who will spend it immediately to reinvigorate the economy through a recovery rebate and build on the child tax credit by offering a one-time rebate of $300. Rep. Barney Frank speaks in favor.

HR 5140 may pay for gas, groceries, and headache medicine for a week, but creates a bigger problem for us down the road. We are just delaying a bigger problem -- pushing it out near where we pushed the last dip we had. At some point it will all catch up with us! There is always a hangover at the end of a wild party! We need to return to a sound money systems! Sadly, Ron Paul is the only Presidential Candidate who understands this.

Gas, a majority percentage of resources required to make groceries, and a significant portion of investment capital backing the health care industry are imported goods or services! There is little debate about this being fact. A $300 check in the hand of a person who will buy gas, canned and fresh food, and over the counter medication is primarily going to end up in the banks of foreign economies. HR 5140 inflates the US Dollar and then creates a trade deficit.
