The Killing Tree - Replace My Heart from "The Romance of Helen Trent" 2002 Awesome song, love it...the refrain is great...

Lyrics:

Reap my soul.
I whisper cruel words that only I can hear.
I dream in a never ending line of tragedy.
disposition neckbraced by insecurity.
Let freedom ring in my ears painfully.
And muffle this bell with the
hand of pessimism
and render it useless.
you can't stop this thought
like a passing trainwreck
it barrels through my brain, paralyzing.
In this state your words
become the daggers
and I'm left bleeding.
These wounds of trust I know
as tunnel vision creates
my only sanctuary.
As hope manifests
itself in the thought of an end.
A lifht. A fighting chance.
A dying breath. Reap my soul.
I'm not sure I can go on.
So drag me down into your world.
Replace my heart with your machine and see if it still bleeds.
Become my enemy. My eyelids become my enemies
I fight then to save myself from the scene.
As the groundwork for my nightmares
is created I stand helpless to this chaos in my head
and yet the chaos stands beautifully now
like a carefully designed city of conformity.
I'll keep you awake tonight
and I'll hurt you until sunrise
in the attempt to displace this pusing attack on my senses.
Drag me down now.
Replace my heart with your machine and see if it still bleeds.
I'll cover my tracks so you can't trace this accident to me.
Drag me down now.

  • Why can't people like this and Rise Against? Tim's talent, as well as the rest of both bands, is too much to ignore. Get over yourselves.

  • @RayneStew hehe, i am starting a band based inspired by rise/tkt an metalstuff...

because some people are dumbasses and juest want to hear that poppier music than this hardcore shit !

  • @ReneBrain i dont like this band^^

rise against is my favourite band though. i simply dont like screamo.

  • @TheFabibaf

okay, but in fact it's also melodic hardcore...and if you listen to -> dead ringer, to the core, state of the union, great awakening and such stuff then you can see that RA did such stuff too...but not in such a length...7 minute song omg =D

  • thats is so fuc.... awesome

  • i soooooo want them to get back together and release a new album :D but thats unlikely :/

  • @Byzantic This hardcore with metally bits. So i guess metalcore. I love this song cause it's angry, fast paced, raw, and heavy! :D

  • Australia needs a means in which I can buy TKT albums. P's, I want his babies.

  • This fucking rules.

  • Screamo is a genre. When someone screams in a song, it's not immediately screamo. Tim doesn't even use the same technique they use in the genre called Screamo. Every song with screaming is falsely called screamo nowadays. While screamo is actually a really unknown genre, with bands such as Circle Takes The Square. This is melodic hardcore, it is totally different from screamo, apart from it using distorted guitars and screams (though they are hardly the same screams) feeling=totally different

  • @DeadGoldBass In the good sense

  • Tim is the shit !!

  • @TheFabibaf - You have no clue what the true definition of "screamo" is then I am guessing. Screaming is different in many forms. Grindcore, metalcore, metal, hardcore, all have very distinctive marks. Screamo is reserved for the pop bands who attempted to use screaming in their power-pop songs that have the distinctive mark of shrieks.

  • I love rise against's hardcore stuff, this is exactly what i was looking for!
