On Thursday 19th of March 1,200 marchers took to the streets of Coventry in a mock New Orleans style funeral parade complete with coffins and a jazz band as part of Christian Aids Countdown to Copenhagen campaign.

The day focused on the devastating impacts of climate change already being felt throughout the worlds poorest nations and why the building of more coal-fired powerstations in the UK will exacerbate an already threatening situation.

Supporters brought their concerns and voices to the doorstep of E.ON, the energy company behind the proposed coal-fired powerstation at Kingsnorth, to say, No to coal!

  • When Feynman wrote about the Challenger disaster he described the terrible and corrupting influence of incentives and expectation upon science and engineering at NASA. ..... Feynman ended his discussion of the Challenger disaster with an observation that eerily speaks to the subject of consensus in scientific matters. Consensus doesnt matter. Only science and engineering does. For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for nature cannot be fooled."
