This video compares various materials for the warping effect on large thin sheets of foam core. I also discuss different ways of applying Bounce and its apparent effects. Lastly I include a demonstration of the foam coat with boost and show how I use it on my modular boards.

  • Hi, can you suggest me a good tool for micro-drill to use on pink foam? I wanna try to carve it with a small microdrill powered cnc, but i'm not used to foam. tnx

  • @thepiuma I not much of an expert on micro-drills. Mine is pretty ghetto. ;) I think you will be fine with what ever you choose as the material is really quite soft. Only recommendation would be to have variable speed option. Mine doesn't have it and wish it did. :) Good luck.

  • @Terranscapes thank you very much .

I'm gathering informations also because mine equipment too isn't good like it sound :-)

BTW i just love the way you do plants and vegetation, i would be happy with half that skill.

  • @Terranscapes Thanks for all your time. Appreciate it. Just wish I could work alongside you to gain some of the confidence to do some of this stuff for myself!!! LOL

  • @jimeronimo Sometimes acrylics, but mainly latex. For the volumes I use, its the best cost and durability.

  • @Terranscapes SO are you using primarily Latex Paints like house paint for your terrain or do you also use Acrylics?

  • @jimeronimo Actually in the video, you can see the plain foam coat foam has a grey tint. I add black latex paint to it, to extend is cure time. I plan on trying different amounts of paint to see its effects for the next video. :) It may be better to tint with inks or plaster tints as they probably have a higher pigment count, I suspect.

  • @miniwars123 The liquids (bounce/fusion) dry just like pva. The Foam Coat has about a 15 minute working time. You can extend it by adding latex paint to it and I have been doing that, but I haven't actually tested the setting time difference. Something for the next video! *scribbling notes for next video*

  • how long should you leave the foam coat mixed with the other stuff to dry?

  • @Terranscapes Thanks.. One more... I'm assuming you can you add paint and/or pigment to the foam coat - bounce - boost products too right?
