My dad was a math/computer teacher for a junior high. One of my first memories is sneaking out of bed at age 5 and waking up the whole house reading a tape into something very similar. The sound really brings back memories. Thanks!

I really enjoyed using the ASR-33. Its interesting that we used ours for literally years with minimal service. However, a $5000 name brand copy machine cant last for a month or less without taking a crap!

Yeah, the Teletypes held up pretty good. The Model 33 was actually one of the more maintenance intensive models. The Model-15/19 on the other hand, went literally YEARS without any problems. Also, the Model-35 was built like the proverbial "Turkish Battleship."
