yah sure the Hybrid might have a very slight fuel economy advantage over the diesel but the truth is when your driving the open road it would amount to less fuel than you would piss everytime that you would stop for a rest area so why not buy a diesel and have something that will hold its value longer and have an engine that will last 3-4 hundred thousand miles and not have to be buying batteries for it every 8 years.

is oficial to change the batteries evry 8 years??? i dont think so...
-
...The process to make a battery that powers the Hybrid is dangerous to the environment. You have to replace the battery every 8 or so years. The battery you just had to replace is more dangerous to our environment than leaving a V-8 engine on, and burning gasoline for 8 years straight. Figure out how that makes sense. -_-

hybrids come in all shapes and sizes, but they all suck. You want to be "green", buy a diesel and run it on bio-diesel. You want to be economic, then definitely dont buy a hybrid, you will never see a return on your investment, and when you do, you'll probably have to buy new batteries for your car at the run of $5000.

@andrescs86 a gti?
wow...
really? if you want speed, why don't you just get a fucking lambo or some shit like that?
-
@awesomeness2571 i drive something better and faster 2010 GTI so you shut the fuck up asshole!
I think the saddest part about all this is that Vw doesn't bring their most efficient TDI models to North America. The new Polo Bluemotion TDI gets 71.3 US mpg Combined. 81.1 US MPG on the hwy. These arn't Hybrids, they're diesels. Diesel is the way to go.
