How to wire an Rx8

You roughly have 10 solder points. Basically every wire for the motor and the sensor system will need to be soldered. For anyone planning on doing this you don't need a 100$ soldering set up. But you will need an iron that is at least 100 to 140 watts. You can find these at lowes, wallmart and many other places. Cheaper 40 watt'ish irons just dont put out enough heat for this type of sodering.

@1521joe id say a good iron, to make it easy like he does in the vid, it would be a good idea to have an iron that reaches about those same temps. look around on google for soldering irons. you can find good ones for under 200 bucks. or go to a hobby store and talk to someone about what they use.
I could perform a similar soldering job with a 40watt Weller Chisel Tipped Iron from Home Depot for $20. IT's all about tinning "prep" and heat transfer.
