@Kboman I must not watch enough Nascar then :P What a shame that would be if I just HAD to watch more of it hehe...In NZ it airs on a Monday morning (your sunday afternoon) so I'd also HAVE to take Monday off work...gee that'd be a shame

@mini4life92 I don't think i've seen any other driver than JR do that, i don't think it has any general benefits. Mostly personal i would say :)
-
@Kboman I also noticed that sometimes the drivers have there hands at 10 and 11 with their right arm sitting flat across the whole steering wheel...Perhaps to get more leverage into the turns, the actual steering wheel looks quite big too??? You're right though, they do seem to sit up very straight. I'd prefer a comfy ride too if I was racing for 5 hours straight! :)

@zxz1997 not everybody does, it's really up to the driver. but when you gotta sit there for hours and have to be on your game every second, it's nice to sit with a straight spine so you don't have to deal with lower back pain as well :)

Why do nascar drivers drive so close to the steering wheel?

@04xb12s You mean that race where he got the pole and a new track record. Yup, rocked it.
