under-rated but in the hall of fame... I don't think he was ever a first team or second team all-star selection

Great basketball player but a gentleman in the true sense of the word. My wife and I will cherish the time we spent with him and his group at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony. He is no nonsense and cuts thru all the bull. Listen to him you may learn something, Jim Hoag

Bells was underrated and a real gentleman. They dont make them like this anymore. For some reason he reminded me of Antonio Davis

themick: Thanks for the info. Makes sense. His teams didn't make the playoffs until his 4th year in the league. I only saw him play toward the end of his career with Atlanta. Fun team to watch, with Bells, Pistol Pete and Sweet Lou.

Bellamy's rookie season with the expansion chicago franchise. There was very little talent around him and he took most of the shots. As the teams he played on increased in talent the shot distribution evened out. He shot consistently over 50 percent which was quite a rarity in the 1960's.
