If you think heartburn is just an occasional discomfort after eating marinara sauce too late in the evening, youd be right, in some cases. There are others cases, however, that are far more serious and even require fundoplication surgery peformed by Rex surgeons like Dr. Daniel Vig. One of those cases involved a Wake County, North Carolina school teacher who learned a few lessons of her own about heartburn.

  • sounds very complicated.

  • I am going to have this done because i cant take this pain anymore, i also have a h hernia .... my mother had this done and she felt great, and now looks great, but she may have to go in and have it fixed, she said she thinks the hernias back, people like me that feels like id rather die then feel this pain should have the surgery for relief.

  • @myeyesonyoupunk ...My advise to you is to not do this surgery, I did it and I regret it, it was horrible and so uncofterable, Bloating was so bad and not being able to belch made it worst. I had it taken down and it left me with more problems, like stomah cramps, and bloating. My advise is to change ur diet and try to treat it naturally with a low fat diet and no junk food..=/

  • I am suffering from the exact same problem. I've been on Nexium for almost 10 years now. I quit smoking, reduced drinking, rarely eat fast food and tried everything but the syptoms keep getting worst. Lately I have been choking on my puke while asleep. A horrible feeling when food comes out rushing into your mouth and nose in the middle of the nite while sleeping. I am seriously thinking about surgery now. How long did it take you to get back to work after surgery? Can you enjoy eating freely?
