I am using a Volksgarden with a 504 watt Vertical Led light in my classroom. This video will show how I built and installed a mount that will hold the light. There is also some great footage of what my classroom looks like with all of the plants, systems and lights that my students and I are testing.
Check out http://urbanhydro.org/ for great information on hydroponics!

  • LED sucks.....HPS and Plasma all the way

  • @sheemsheem

I disagree with you when it comes to the volksgarden. The vertical light produces very little heat and when you touch the unit it is barely warmer than room temperature. HPS and MH lights have heat issues and this is especially tough to control in the small space of the volksgarden. The LED light will last 10-15 years vs the yearly bulb change of the HPS/MH bulbs. As for plasma name one light that will fit in this unit. Plasma shows promise, but it needs work.

  • Wow,thats awsome. How much does something like that cost?

  • @jaspertodd

The volksgarden is around 2000.00, but it will pay itself off in money saved in 8 months or so. We are now making money off what we are growing in it. If done properly, 800.00 + month profits from one unit.

  • That is pretty cool! I was watching an old episode of "Stargate Universe" the other day and they had these volksgardens in their hydroponic growing room too...

  • @Omarateastwind

Yes, they were supplied from Omegagarden!

  • @overlogg On May 19, I will be filming day 21 of the grow. I must say that I am amazed at how fast everything is growing. The lettuce is doing great and is such a dark healthy looking green. I also have some cherry tomato clones being grown at the same time and they are actually starting to flower in less than 3 weeks. Out of all the systems I have grown with, this is by far my favourite. I will be posting a complete review of the system, light and grow times soon!

  • I missed this light unit on the website. Are they not selling it anymore? Also, what else besides lettuce and cherries have you grown. I'm trying to think of something my family will eat. Too bad can't grow carrots and potatoes in it.

  • @Omarateastwind Why do they cancel all the shows I like?

  • IT LOOKS LIKE A FLUX GENERATING FUSSION OMEGA GATEWAY

  • @w8mk "Lettuce"
