Jonathan Feucht playing Johann Walther chorale prelude: "Liebster Jesu, wir sind hier" (Blessed Jesus, we are here). This is my first public appearance on the organ at a summer recital put on for college-age musicians, and in this video, I've only been playing the organ for around four months. Unfortunately, my the first few seconds are clipped out, but my sister did a great job recording none-the-less. (Thank you Diane!)

  • And I meant to ask: What is it you play up until 1:30 ? This part is not in the big Walther volume on IMSLP.

  • @cbreemer I believe that is one of J.S. Bach's harmonizations for the choral melody. I played it first so the audience could get an idea of the tune before the Walther piece.

  • Mr. Feucht82 are you the organist? I viewed the church on the web site you sent me. This church is located on Shirley Street correct? Thanks again for responding.

  • Yes, that is the church. No, I am not the organist for this church, but I am the musician for Resurrection Presbyterian Church in Puyallup, WA

  • Has this organ pipes or is entirely electronic?

  • Electronic, although it tends to fool people...

  • de lampen vielen me op. waar zijn die verkrijgbaar?

  • @hermanshermits124124 Be an organ? I did not understand what you mean?

  • @pertencoacristo be an organ????????

  • @jfeucht82

I thought it sounded more like Bach than Walther. However it's not the one from the Orgelbuchlein nor the BWV 731. Maybe from the 361 4-part chorales ? Anyway, nice idea, as Walther does not really state the theme, just starts with variations.

  • Thanks for posting this. Walther was a marvellous composer whose organ works deserve far more recognition. Very well played too - you really been playing organ only for 4 months ? That is amazing ! Not that this is a very difficult piece, but you sound as to the manner born.

  • Sorry mstern18, I missed so, organist. My favorite instrument is the organ, so I wanted to be an organist

  • be an organ? whoa, that would be weird. but cool.

Sorry, I realize you probably meant "organist" :)
