What a ripoff.

Ever wonder whats inside an ink cartridge? well you'll find out in this video. these are the ink tanks that go to my Canon MP470 printer copier scanner. these things cost 50 bucks for a pack of 2 black and 1 color and im starting to have a collection of black cartridges so I guess I need to print more cheat codes lol, or maybe some pix in B&W for that classic look I dunno. I opened this by heating a screwdriver and pressing it into the joint untill the screwdriver went in then letting it cool then putting it back in and pryin up to crack the seal, well this is what the guts of inkjet cartridges look like, if you ask me i think its a ripoff you would think that the foam things are saturated but not in this case lol.
anyway you know what to do so go do it lol thanks for watching

  • i refill my lexmark ink cartridge with food coloring and it works great for me!

lol really? I doubt that food coloring would work b/c it's not meant for printing. you would need to maybe mix it with isopropyl alcohol in the right ratio and maybe it will work.

  • All you do is overrride and fill till leak from top

How do you override it? My printer has a stop/reset button but I doubt it has to do with the cartridge. I think one time it said I was out of ink so I unplugged it and plugged it back in and it worked.

  • Ok, here's a tip. I worked with printers... You can refill almost every printer cartridge for about 8 times. But when it empties you mustnt wait or the color will dry in the sponge. After that I tried installing direct injecting system, I only had to have always full bottles and I never bought cartridge again :)

  • I hope HP doesn't do that. They probably do. This is why they shouldn't charge such high prices for ink. It's not like they made it from unicorn blood.

I had a Canon BJC-4300 series printer and it worked but one of the pins that hold the paper down broke out and then it kept jamming so I got rid of it. I loved that printer as it got me thru high school. I now have a canon MP470 3 in 1 printer scanner copier is there a way to reset the ink on it?

  • not true ! the same ! they say 400+ pages but the true is under 170 pages and they have 1 neutral color that it used whit b&w and color and runs out as fast as the rest ! :( sad try to get a old printer they dont have dis ink levels bs ! u can refill my old canon bjc 1000 i refill for 10 years whit cheap ink ! best printer ever ! it die on me :(

  • thats the reason everyone shub buy refill kits or make the mixture yourself with food colouring and polyvinyl pyrrolidone, works great :)

  • thats the reason that i buy mine from ink xpress and there filled right to the top :)

  • The garbage is the best place for any inkjet or even laser printer.

Put your files on disc and send them to the copy shop, I do mine at Jessops, costs me around 30 pence each. I select only my best shots. Works out much cheaper than this shit and I don't have to live with keeping the ugly crap in my house either.

  • oh and when i first opened the cartridge..i thought it was a rip off aswell..becouse the sponges were only stained halfway like in your vid!

  • yeah man..it works awesome..i even made black by mixing the food dye colors ..and i use it in the black cartridge..works perfect!..i find lexmark printers are the easiest to use food coloring in..my printer is a lexmark Z515..i save a loooot of money by using food dye..iv been using food dye in it for months and no probs!
