  • Hey Michael I dig your tutorial man.

I have a quick question - I want to be able to automate the "dry/wet" knob to get that cool effect from just hearing the synth syncopated and then break into the drum beat. I tried using a sequencer track, hitting record and play and turning the knob but that didn't do it. How do you do this?

  • you need to make sure the record Icon is selected in the track sequencer window before reason will record automation on the sequencer track. its a common mistake I used to make. hope this helps.

  • SWEEEt... finally someone brokedown the vocoder into an easy to understand, step by step explanation. this thing has just been starin me in the eye for three years now and i finally can use it in my arsenal.

    ty :D

  • thanks for your feedback

  • The song at the beginning sounds like Royksopp or something. That tune is great

  • thats because it is...LOL

  • Hi I love your videos. Reason just has so many options and tricks and I keep learning new things all the time. Is there anyway to get your videos to be more clear? What screen capture software are you using? Is it any good?

  • the Shift holding tip is very good, I use it all the time, It´s important to READ the help of the software. ALWAYS.

  • Thanks for the 'holding SHIFT down while selecting a rack unit' tip. Everyone, this is a really good tip use it!

Reason why it's good tip is because sometimes when you have a big track and lots of stuff and instruments going on, adding another rack unit (reverb, synth etc) will auto connect it to the above unit which can mess up settings and connections on other units.

I've been using Reason for a few years now. I'm pretty good now, getting into real mastering now! Never knew this tip

    THANKS!

  • ive cracked it ,,bin messin about with reason for a few months now ,,,its the bomb ,,,good post optronix 5*

  • Dude thats an awesome effect. Know I finally know who made that song too. I've always liked hearing that tune when I saw the gieco commercial. Thanks a lot! Your videos are very helpful and informative. Keep up the good work!

  • im pretty sure royksopp uses the Worm break

  • hell yeah :) the UI is better too in my opinion...

  • I didn't know the shift thing.. thanx :)

  • ive been using FL studio for a few years now, and ive made community considered "good" semi professional sounding music, and now i think im convinced in need to move on to reason.
