why is he trying to controll the 3'' flying thing with a tv remote?
-
It must have an actuated flap somewhere to induce horizontal translation. Now if it could translate horizontally & vertically with only the lift motor, that would be something.

they do sell a micro version of this you guys know? it is pheasable, the torque generate does make the craft spin and the foam fins are angled like propellers so it creats lift its like that walmart saucer piece of shit

I see all kinds of cool flying gizmos in your room. I like your ornithopter. Any more work on that?

spinning way to slow and the form of the device isn't suited to hover or fly

Been trying to get something like that to work for demonstrating 3D sonar, without much luck.

There is a single flap and a magnetic actuator on it. The actuator is energized when it "sees" the IR beam from the TV remote (there is an IR detector on the model). If it had 2 flaps and actuators as well as a microprocessor I could have had complete control. This model only used analog components.

The throttle is controlled with the transmitter. The direction of motion is controlled with an IR remote from a TV set.
