JJ Abrams was the Director of the new Star Trek 09 Movie. JJ Abrams stated himself that he is more of a Star Wars fan and thought that Star Trek should be more have more action like Star Wars. He also thought that is should appeal to kids like Star Wars does. So in fact the new movie was inspired by Star Wars. Just look at all the weird aliens and fights. There was not much Star Trek in the new movie (except for the beggining) witch is realy sad because Star Trek is a great thing

Exactly. This new film did feel like classic Trek especially the characters but with a modernize made-over to it and made it more appealing to non fans. I don't care what the picky fan boys say because I have enough of listen to their very annoying nerdy criticizing, whining, moaning, and bitching towards the new movie or to Star Trek Enterprise (starring Scott Bakula as Captain Jonathon Archer) or what other Star Trek that they dislike and complain about.
