My friend and I got together to create a Rube Goldberg Machine for our graduation/senior project in high school. Everything you see in the video was improvised, as we had no intention of planning anything.
Our total cost for this project (excluding plumber and ER fees) was approximately $12.
While fooling around with the dart launcher (catapult) we hit a plastic pipe, which sadly sprung a leak that could only be fixed by a plumber.
And then when we had entered the filming stage of our project, we had set everything up except for the string that held the catapult ready. The meat cleaver had already been set up (far too precariously), but while Elias was working on the string, the book which was set up to set off the meat cleaver tripped itself over, which then sent the meat cleaver into Elias' elbow instead of cut the string. We were in the ER less than ten minutes later.
After filming the project and slowing it down to half speed (for clarity and length) we composed our own music to go along with it. If you can't hear it, then turn up your speakers, because it's rather quiet.
Worked 3-5 hours every weekday for approx. 4 weeks.
Let us tell you that this was a LOT harder to build than it looks.
Built, produced, filmed, edited, composed by: Elias Peirce and Lukas Tubby
And in case you were wondering about the title.... Lt. are my initials, and handbag is another name for purse, which is how you pronounce Elias' last name.
Nice
