Deep in the mountains of Northwest Pennsylvania, active CPL's show the heritage of this former B&O mainline. We continue the day chasing the SIRI south from Johnsonburg to DuBois. We also see a DuBois Yard job moving locomotives around in the sunset, with a nice Leslie 5 chime on the lead unit.

We first catch SIRI at Flower Valley / Glen Hazel Rd north of Johnsonburg. The train waits for a few minutes as MOW clear after repairing a broken rail. We then see the train head over the Clarion River at Johnsonburg. After working at the "sewer plant", the train heads south and continues through our camera location at Ridgeway. Just a bit further south, we see the train along the Clarion River near Portland Mills. Between here and Brockway, the track travels through the middle of inaccessible state game lands, which would require hours of hiking to get track side, the road to Brockway, PA 949 to PA 28, takes you around the mountain well away from the tracks, usually stomping the chase to Brockway. Thankfully, the train had to wait for another broken rail, giving us the oppurtunity to catch the train just south of Brockway at the P&S connector at DELLWOOD, then by the CPL at Harvey's Run. Not shown is the arrival into DuBois Yard, the shot didn't turn out, and was excluded because it was that horrible, but to make up for it, there were yard units out working by the CPL's at CP FALLS CREEK.

  • Great shots... Haven't seen much action on their mainline, I live along the A&E Sub. Thinking about going to chase mainline Jan. 22-23.. You in?

  • @Nickboy90

No, sorry, I live about 3.5 hours away haha.

  • Another nicely done chase on the B&P. This is a railroad which I'm not very familiar with at all, I was anxious to read the month's RailPace on this piece to see how much I could figure out about their system, but alas, that issue remains lost, gone almost as quickly as it was purchased! Were all of these shots (between both videos of course) taken on the same day? If so, that's not bad for a regional RR such as this, I think it would definitely be worth checking out someday. Love those CPL's.

  • @AliceInChains243

Both videos were taken during the same day. There was even a PSDB2 which we did not see that snuck into the yard from Brookville while we were over catching the PSDB1 at the shaft in Penfield, so, besides the northbound and southbound main freights, there is a good chunk of other trains that can be on the tracks. Even though it didn't work out for us, the yard jobs (DB1, JB1 etc.) can make interesting treks to different nooks and tracks that are otherwise rarely photographed.

  • Chasing Siri? You mean a couple of Apple-boxes?

  • Surprised this train doesn't carry an ad for the iPhone 4S. lol

  • Outstanding videography which includes your camera placement and sound!!! For that matter, all your videos are excellent and very high quality. Watching them is just like being there in person. Thanks for posting them!!!

  • Great video, I particularly enjoyed the shot of it crossing the river. Question; what is the light above the main block signal for (shown twice near the end of the video)?

  • Very good work !

    Thanks !

  • Awesome video. Great trains and locations. Really enjoyed watching it.
