@MrRetrospex Nothing more than a dull hum, the lunar module had no fuel pumps for reliability purposes, and instead relied on super-compressed liquid helium to push fuel into the combustion chamber. The engine had no moving parts to make sound other than the valves opening and closing, and there was no air for the rocket exhaust to buffet as it came out of the engine bell. The only sound that reached the cockpit was the sound of the fuel rushing through the pipes below them.

is incredible that you can think that really has reached the moon .... has nothing to do with patriotism that everyone has. It is a scientific issue. The Van Allen belt is still there and in that time was not enough technology to pass it ... In addition, why they stopped flights to the moon? Could have put a luxury hotel for millionaires and a McDonalds isnt it?
