I appologize for my english. Anyway...
This man is brilliant. In despite of his own ghost, he keeps his life in movement, with a lot of projets, new challenges. He just tries things in what he believes, and I respect him for that. He makes me think life is full of new surprises, and wind may turn up each day, even if things seem unfair or so much hard. Just one word : Merci mon gars!

Yeah, I understand what you mean about being depressed doesn't necessarily mean he's not depressed - but I just love seeing him...not misreable. And I think when he's playing, he seems so happy. That was really all I was trying to say.

I always feel a bit weird commenting about someone I don't actually know, but from what I've read and heard Hugh Laurie say in interviews over the years, I think you hit the nail on the head regarding music. I do know that music provides an escape, and also that keeping oneself busy (as he does) is one of the best ways to not think about things and therefore not feel quite so bad. Not being miserable all the time doesn't mean a person isn't depressed.

When you look at Hugh when he sings and performs, how can anyone say he's miserable? When I watch him playing like that, he seems happy and really enjoying himself. He loves it and it's probably one of the few things that makes him truly happy.
He's such a beautiful person, and probably less miserable and depressed than everyone assumes he is.

they do have a lot of things in common and that is
why i think no other actor would have achieved the same success that Hugh did and i really don't imagine anybody else playing this role...

Absolutely. All the characters he plays and has played have a lot of him in them, I think. He's said so himself, too. I think it's a lot of House in Hugh and there's also a lot of Bertie Wooster in Laurie. I hate myself deeply for writing stupid things all the time, sorry! God, I'm a twit. I never think things through properly before writing them.
